A Tribute to Syed Ali Shah Geelani: A Lasting Symbol of Rebellion against Oppression

WHEN THIS WILL END? FAKE NEWS ON THE PRICE OF NATIONALISM

 

 As the whole nation is paying tribute to the services of our 6 beloved soldiers shahadat working for flood relief in Balochistan. A new self-generated fake narrative is spreading like fire on Whatsapp groups. The sad part is, that it is all done to divert the nations attention from one political party's corruption case.

Today PTI members are bluntly questioning National authorities just to hide their incompetence. Fake screenshots, lies, rumors, and accusations using US and Pakistan airspace alliance are totally ridiculous. It would have been better if they did a little fact check before blame games. Its not that there is conspiracy against them , but they are the ones conspiring against Pakistan's integrity by targeting national institutions.

A little background to this is a similar screenshot circulated in October 2021 which was also about it.

According to this screenshot tweet, The US and Pakistan signed a formal agreement for use of the latter’s airspace to conduct military and intelligence operations in Afghanistan media in October 2021. It means that the United States is almost formalizing an agreement with Pakistan to use its airspace to conduct military and intelligence operations in Afghanistan. It was just to give an impression that the US and Pakistan are currently in talks regarding this matter. It was denied by the Pakistan Foreign Office at that time, stating that “no such understanding was in place between the two countries.” Hence proved it was misinformation spread to cause disturbance in the nation even CNN also published about this on October 2021 on their official twitter account.

Similarly, A new screenshot started to circulate yesterday on social media in which Twitter account user  Caryn E. Gifford who is a Level 2 Policy Advisor to US Ambassador to Pakistan tweeted about the US using Pakistan airspace.

 She tweeted that:

The US Embassy in Pakistan regrets to inform you that one of our tactical drones has accidentally targeted a Pakistan Army helicopter, resulting in multiple fatalities. The team is on the crash site in Lasbela, Balochistan, and we mourn the loss of Commander 12 Corps Lt. Gen. Sarfaraz Ali.

It gives an impression that the US and Pakistan are currently working together. But, it is important to note that the screenshot being circulated does not have the date mentioned on it. This case is similar to last year’s fake screenshot circulation as the original date has been removed on purpose to portray this as something recent

Even the official Twitter account of the US Embassy Islamabad has neither tweeted, retweeted, nor liked any statement that points to the claim made by Caryn Gifford. And that account is now deleted.

isn't this obvious if it was all true than why do you need to delete that account?

So, this whole narrative built by PTI members just to question national authorities is totally out of the box. it simply shows their self-centered and cheap tactics to gain(support/sympathy)  and divert(corruption cases and incompetence)  attention. They are only doing it to gain their political attention as PTI foreign funding verdict was announced yesterday. It made them restless and now are trying to divert the attention of the public to their self-created lie.

They raised many questions about the Pakistan nation's authority and the US airspace agreement. when it was cleared by the Pakistan army in October 2021 that there is no such understanding taking place.

What they need to answer is what led Akbar S Babar, the founding member of the party, to file the foreign funding case in the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Why did Khan ignore the alleged wrongdoings of some of the top PTI leaders and eventually sided with those who were accused of misconduct?

Why was Babar considered the whistleblower and punished and deprived of party membership?

What was their email exchange?

PTI needs to clear its stance first and stick to its motto of No Corruption instead of hiding there. If they would have applied this “Absolutely Not” policy to control corruption within the party and showed transparency in their funding. it would have at least made them credible but they simply wanted to create a distraction.
